“I’ve done 10 years’ worth of tours in the US and Europe and JR/Veloscapes is a first-class operation. JR’s attention to detail, focus on safety but also flexibility were incredible.

And he’s a great person and a joy to be around! Highly recommend.”

“My friends and I recently (early June 2021) did a 3 day Gravel Bike Tour around Steamboat Springs, CO. We worked with JR Thompson @Veloscapes to put the trip together.

I cannot say enough good things about JR. From our first phone call it was obvious to me that he really cared about his clients and the level of service being provided. He has a high level of integrity, professionalism and his knowledge of the terrain and conditions were excellent. JR even kept us updated (the night before) on road conditions to make minor tweaks because of road maintenance work. Always on time, very courteous, great SAG support, lunch and he went over and beyond on many occasions throughout our tour. He really cares and my friends and I had a fantastic experience.”

“Veloscapes is a 5-star bicycle tour company.

JR Thomson is a consummate professional who offers a 5-star product. I have utilized tour companies around the world and Veloscapes is among the best. JR plans and anticipates all of the uncertainties that comprise a tour on a bicycle in the mountains and delivers an excellent experience. This is a company I will use again and again.”

Peter Gordon

“JR and Veloscapes fully supported a four day trail and road ride for our group in and around Steamboat. The levels of technical and general customer service were excellent and JR is the best. He’s engaging, interesting, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He got everything right from food to bike set-up/repair to route knowledge. I would work with JR on 100% of the trips I take. Veloscapes is outstanding!”

“Professional and comprehensive service delivered seamlessly. From routine tubeless tire fixes to a very serious bearing issue, JR kept 12 of us riding  for our 3 day Gravel Grind Adventure in very remote NW Colorado/southern Wyoming.

The Skratch and Honey Stinger products provided during our rides were supplemented perfectly with real food. And lunches? Wow. The fresh lunch spreads were amazing. Being an avid rider himself  JR knows what rider want/need/crave. We fueled up on great sandwiches, humus, an assortment of super fresh  vegetables and fruit, pickles, salty snacks, ice cold water, pellegrino, coke, etc.

JR’s quiet confident way  was infectious. Our entire group fed off the JR vibe!”

Steven Southworth

“We went on a 6 day very demanding road bike tour through Colorado with some 100 mile days and a lot of daily climbing. We passed through Boulder, Mount Evans, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Vail, and back to Boulder. The service was very friendly and super professional. JR is an experienced guide very attentive to the small details and super laid back. We really had a great trip and for sure we are considering Veloscapes for our next trip in the US.”
